With the original school kitchen becoming too small and the equipment becoming old and unreliable, we were asked to project manage the works to extend and refurbish the kitchen. To cost effectively allow this, we proposed to utilise the existing bin storage area and extend the kitchen within this space. Despite a very tight timescale we were able to obtain all required statutory permissions, along with preparing the necessary tender documentation in order to allow the successful contractor to start on site over the summer holidays. The kitchen was completed just at the start of the new term and is now able to adequately cope with the growing number of meals that need to be prepared and cooked each day.
